Marian Leigh Hayne, November 6, 1980-May 14, 2017, our bright, beautiful, intelligent, precious, Marian Leigh Hayne lost her life in an automobile accident on Mother's Day May 14, 2017 in Cordova, Tennessee, and now resides with our Lord and Savior. Marian grew up in Birmingham, attended Advent Episcopal Day School and John Carroll High School. She graduated from Morehead State University with an Associate of Applied Science and a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Science with honors. While in school in Kentucky, she loved being outside and spent many hours walking in the Daniel Boone National Forest. In her Advent years and as a teen, Marian spent countless hours and days at El Gezira Riding Academy. She loved horses and riding and became quite the accomplished equestrian on her horse Cajin. In 2009, after graduating from college, Marian moved to the Memphis area where she worked as a licensed vet tech for Memphis Veterinary Specialist until her death. She loved working with Dr. Lorin Hillman, an Oncologist Veterinarian, and was known for her ability to communicate with owners suffering with their pets. Marian believed that she was called to care for animals, so it was only natural that she took in any and all. Her animal family at one time included 5 dogs, 2 cats, lab rats, and guinea pigs. Apartment living had limited her to 3 Shih Tzu, all rescues with various disabilities. Next to her love of her family and her pets, Marian loved to read, which she did constantly. She wrote beautiful and witty letters and stories, which will be forever treasured. Marian could tell a story better than anyone and have you laughing throughout. She also liked to draw and paint portraits of her family. Marian leaves behind her parents, Arlene and Van, Brother Matt and sister-in-law Jina, Grandmother Jane Tarrant Hayne, and aunts, uncles, and cousins. A celebration of Marian's life is Saturday May 20th at 11 am at the Cathedral Church of the Advent, 2017 Sixth Avenue North, Birmingham, Al. 35203. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the animal recuse/shelter of your choice.
