Maria Christina Alascio Bunyard, 90, of Cordova, TN passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017. Maria was born on September 24, 1926, to Salvatore and Rose Alascio, in Baltimore, MD. Her parents Salvatore and Rose were immigrants from Italy who came to America and after seven years they became United States citizens. Mary married Daniel Armstead Bunyard and spent the next 32 years traveling the world in service to our country while raising their family.

Maria Christina Alascio Bunyard, 90, of Cordova, TN passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017. Maria was born on September 24, 1926, to Salvatore and Rose Alascio, in Baltimore, MD. Her parents Salvatore and Rose were immigrants from Italy who came to America and after seven years they became United States citizens. Mary married Daniel Armstead Bunyard and spent the next 32 years traveling the world in service to our country while raising their family.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Retired Command Sergeant Major, Daniel A. Bunyard, her parents; Salvatore and Rose Alascio, four sisters; Theresa, Francis, Jenny, Minnie, and three brothers Vince, Tony and Joseph.

Mary is survived by two sisters, Josephine Brill and Dorothy McBee, her son Michael Dean Bunyard and his wife Dianne Daigre Bunyard, her daughter Annalisa Marie Millard and her husband Owen, four grandchildren: Christopher Michael Bunyard, Lara Lynn (Bunyard) Hunt, Lauren Marie Owsley, Bailey Christine Owsley, two great grandchildren; Rose Estelle Bunyard and Ava Lynn Hunt. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10am until service time at 11 am, on Saturday, May 13, 2017, with memorial service at 11am, at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd., Bartlett, TN 38133. A reception with food, will follow the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
